Public Education

The RM of Portage is part of the Portage la Prairie School Division. A map showing the Portage la Prairie School Division wards and region can be found here.

Portage Collegiate Institute is the high school serving the region. It is located in the city of Portage.

There are a variety of elementary and middle year schools in Portage la Prairie to which students in the RM of Portage are bussed. There is also an elementary-middle year school in Oakville. Some Hutterite communities operate their own schools under the Portage la Prairie School Division.

Private Education

There are two private schools which serve the region. Westpark School is a K to 12 school following the Manitoba Provincial curriculum. The Southport Christian School is located in Southport and utilises the ACE curriculum.

Post-Secondary

There are various options for post-secondary education available in the RM of Portage.

Red River College: The Portage campus of the Red River College offers a broad range of continuing education courses and workshops. They also offer customized courses and workshops to address more specific needs.

Campus Manitoba: Campus Manitoba is a consortium of Manitoba public post secondary institutions. The programs are designed to facilitate access to post-secondary education without having to incur the costs associated with relocating or commuting.

Stevenson Aviation: Stevenson Aviation is a technical training centre focussed on the aviation industry. It has campuses in both Southport and Winnipeg.
