Public Safety Canada has just launched Flood Ready to encourage Canadians to take action and adopt proactive flooding mitigation measures.
Disasters continue to be an increasing threat to the safety and economic stability of Canadian communities and businesses, and flooding, in particular, is one of the most frequent and costly natural disasters.
Flood Ready encourages Canadians to:
- Learn about overland flooding and the damage it can cause
- Become part of the solution
- Take steps to protect homes, properties and communities
