Prairie Fusion Arts & Entertainment: Prairie Fusion Arts & Entertainment is the artistic hub for Portage la Prairie and the surrounding area.  They provide an inclusive environment where all people can experience, learn, create, and celebrate the arts. 

There are separate dance, pottery and art studios for Classes and Workshops, in which we run programs throughout the year.
 
Within our Gift Shop you will find many unique art pieces in a wide range of mediums, from jewelry, pottery and fiber arts to paintings, books and music, created by both local and regional artists.
 
Prairie Fusion Arts & Entertainment holds several Special Events throughout the year including Celebration of the Arts Gala Dinner and Art Auction in May, the Artful Garden Tour in July and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra Holiday Express Concert in December, just to name a few.

THE PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE REGIONAL LIBRARY: 40B Royal Road North The Portage la Prairie Regional Library provides memberships to residents of the City and the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie free of charge. Non-residents are charged an annual fee.
 
The library provides access to books for all ages, magazines, large-print books, audio books, DVDs and eBooks.  The library also has a microfilm reader and a microfilm collection of newspapers dating from the 1880's for Portage, MacGregor and Gladstone.  
 
The wide range of library services offered include:
printing; 
block loans to schools or organizations;
curbside pick-up; 
inter-library loans;
Internet access (includes laptop and wireless access);
children’s workshops;
pre-school storytime;
book and artifact displays;
multilingual books;
adult information sessions;
author readings and book launches;
and a summer-long book sale.
 
Open to the public: Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 
Closed Sunday and Monday.

Fort la Reine Museum: The Fort la Reine Museum is located on the east edge of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
 
The museum is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Canadian Prairies generally and more specifically the history of the City and Municipality of Portage la Prairie.
 
Fort la Reine Museum has over 25 different buildings displaying thousands of individual artifacts including native artifacts that pre-date the arrival of Europeans to more modern pieces such as farm equipment and military artifacts from the 20th Century.

Recreation
There are a wide variety of opportunities to observe or participate in sporting events in the region.
 
Stride Place: Stride Place is home to two arenas, a wave pool, walking track and fitness area.

Portage Terriers: The Portage Terriers is the area's team in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. They have won the Turnbull Cup three times in the last five years.
 
Sports: A number of seasonal sports are available including soccer, hockey, curling, baseball, badminton, golf, swimming, fishing, camping, hunting, etc.
